Shannon Brookes is a Para Equestrian rider on the WA State High Performance Squad and aiming to qualify for the Australian National Squad and represent them at the Tokyo Paralympics. Shannon lives in Dowerin, Wheatbelt WA.


Senator Jordon Steele-John is currently the youngest member of the Australian Senate representing Western Australia for the Australian Greens. Jordon is a disability rights advocate and and talks with Anna Cornish from the Wheatbelt Health Network about his values and outlook as a leader with a disability as well as describing what is required to make communities inclusive of people with a disability.

Matthew Fernihough is a Muay Thai champion who has represented Australia in the World Championships . His dream is to represent Australia at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Matthew lives in Northam, Wheatbelt WA.


Katrina Barber is an WA Artist who uses new media illuminating the most direct and intimate way of the artist herself. Barber’s practice is directly informed by her experience as a Deaf artist, her artwork opening pathways for communication. Her paintings, watercolours and sculptures are self-reflective transient feelings as well as explorations and examinations of light that traverse the personal and innate to process driven theoretical creations. Katrina has held many exhibitions including in Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery, Illumine II, Alcaston Gallery in Melbourne and been an artist in residencies at Perth Institute of Contemporary Art, and CASM Mandurah.


Julianne Ryan is mixed media artist, creative and poet. Inspired by Australian native flora and fauna, Julianne layers and overlaps line, form and colour to capture an essence of her explorations of emotions and life experiences. Julianne provides art mentoring and helps train budding artists with intellectual disability to develop new skills and continue artistic development.



Imogen Blackwell is a performing arts professional and during her career has been involved in community theatre, dancing, acting and teaching. Imogen is the co founder of the Perth Academy of Performing Arts (PAPA). She teaches over 100 kids in Perth and regional WA.


Dr Dinesh Palipana OAM  is an Australian doctor, legal professional and disability advocate. He is the first quadriplegic medical intern in Queensland, Australia. He is the second person with quadriplegia to graduate as a doctor in Australia and the first with spinal cord injury. Dr Dinesh has been an advocate for medical students with disabilities in Australia as well of the founding members of Doctors with Disability and an ambassador for Physical Disabilities Australia


Dr. Harry Eeman is a Rehabilitation Physician and a  Pain Physician. He sustained a severe form of Guillain Barre Syndrome in 1999 that saw him hospitalised for 2 years, of which 5 months were in ICU. He now works in Melbourne, and has won the Inspire Award recipient in 2016 for outstanding achievement in a medical specialty. He is one of the founding members of Doctors with Disability Australia.
